Hazel hedging is a large, native deciduous shrub with large mid-green leaves. Very attractive in spring when covered with many long yellow catkins which are followed by nuts in autumn. Hazel hedging plants are rarely used as a single species hedge as it works better as part of a traditional mixed hedge.
Its best to plant Hazel hedging plants in a double staggered row, 3-6 plants per running metre.
