We use a Damcon PL-40 tree planting machine with a hydraulic cane pusher. A team of three or four for larger trees can plant and cane about 4000 a day.
The machine initially digs and levels a 12′ deep trench into which the cane is pushed. The operator at the rear places a tree against the cane before some paddles and wheels fill in and firm the soil.
